Meet the team

Mrs Moroney

Head of School

Originally from Liverpool, Mrs Moroney graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA Honours degree in English Literature and History, followed by a First Class Master’s degree in Education and Leadership.

Mrs Moroney brings with her over 17 years of experience in education, and several senior leadership roles across Laurus Trust schools, including Trust Director for English, Assistant Head at Cheadle Hulme High School, and Deputy Head at both Hazel Grove High School and Laurus Cheadle Hulme.

Mrs Moroney has quickly become a valued member of the Hazel Grove High School community. She is unwavering in her commitment to ensuring every student receives high-quality learning opportunities, removing any barriers to achievement.

Mr Vickers

Deputy Head

Mr Vickers studied Product Design at Sheffield Hallam University, before completing his PGCE at the same institute. He spent two years at a school in Lincoln before moving to Hazel Grove High School in 2005.

He enthuses students with his love of learning and aims to develop students to reach their full potential and has uncompromising aspirations for every individual and for the school to be exceptional and inspirational.

Mr Vickers feels very honoured to be Deputy Head for Hazel Grove High School, helping the young people of Hazel Grove develop the qualities and skills that will enable them go on to the future of their choice. Hazel Grove is a community he very much cares for and is passionate about.

Miss Buck

Deputy Head

Miss Buck graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA Honours degree in History, followed by a Master’s Degree in Education and Leadership. She is currently completing an EdD at the University of Sheffield.

Starting her teaching career in 2016, Miss Buck joined the Laurus Trust in 2019 as Head of History at Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) and later became Assistant Head in 2022. She strongly believes in the Laurus Trust vision and is committed to ensuring that all students achieve their full potential.

In December 2025, she joined Hazel Grove High School as Deputy Head of School. She is passionate about pastoral care, working closely with staff and families to create a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported to thrive both academically and personally.

Mrs Pearson

Assistant Head

Mrs Pearson has a degree in History and Archaeology from the University of Leicester and completed her PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001.

Initially spending 16 years working in Burnley as a Progress and Development leader alongside teaching History, she quickly developed a passion for supporting students to gain the best possible outcomes.

In 2020, she started at Cheadle Hume High School teaching History and sharing her passion for the subject with students. Mrs Pearson was Head of Altius house, a role that gave her the opportunity to support students closely to achieve the highest outcomes.

Mrs Pearson joined Hazel Grove High School in January 2026 as an Assistant Headteacher and is keen to make a difference to the lives of the students who attend the school.

Mrs Lambert

Director of Sixth Form & Assistant Head of School

Mrs Lambert studied French, Spanish and Marketing at Salford University before embarking on a career in an Aviation Route Development. However, eager to play a bigger part in shaping the future of young people, she decided to start her teacher training in 2007.

Mrs Lambert has been teaching within the Laurus Trust since 2008, starting her career at Cheadle Hulme High School where she later became Trust Director of Languages.

She then had the honour of becoming Assistant Head of School at Laurus Ryecroft, helping to open the school. She moved to Hazel Grove in 2020, as Assistant Head of School, with a desire to continue to strengthen the love of languages within the Laurus Trust. She truly believes that every student should learn a new language, and her goal is to help students understand the link between learning in the classroom and the exciting opportunities that languages bring in the wider world.

Mr Howell

Assistant Head

Mr Howell attended Sheffield Hallam University to read History before going on to complete an MSc in Tourism Management and a PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has been teaching since 2004 and is passionate about supporting all students, regardless of their background, to remove any barriers to their learning and achieve their potential.

Mr Howell is a champion for young carers and looked-after children (LAC). He has worked to ensure that these students are recognised across the school and that their needs are met.

As well as being an Assistant Head, Mr Howell also teaches History – a subject he is passionate about. He believes it is valuable not only for developing students’ analytical and reasoning skills, but also for helping them understand different cultures and how the world has been shaped today.

Mr Howell is proud to work at Hazel Grove and is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the young people who attend the school.

Mrs Kelly

Assistant Head

Mrs Kelly has a degree in Economics and spent many years working in the financial sector. She later decided to pursue a career in teaching and completed a PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Since 2002, Mrs Kelly has taught Business and Computing at Hazel Grove High School, alongside taking career breaks to travel the world and teach in Australia.

Mrs Kelly has a passion for teaching and enjoys inspiring students. Her travel and professional experience bring added depth and real-world context to her lessons. She is proud to be an Assistant Head and has undertaken a wide range of roles within the school, focusing on home learning, intervention, achievement, behaviour and pastoral care. She has also been instrumental in introducing the House System at Hazel Grove High School.

Miss Parry

Head of Pastoral Care

Miss Parry worked in pastoral care and safeguarding at Cheadle Hulme High School for 8 years prior to joining Hazel Grove High School in September 2019.

She has significant experience in supporting students and their families, working effectively with a wide range of external professionals and agencies. Miss Parry is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and works closely with the Leadership team, Heads of Year, SEND Department and our Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) specialists.

Miss Parry believes in the Laurus Trust’s vision and its values. She is passionate and fully committed to ensuring all students have the opportunity to achieve their full potential regardless of background or circumstance.

Miss Marin Roman

Director of Inclusion

Miss Marin Roman coordinates and oversees the SEND provision across the school and serves as a key point of contact for students, parents, and carers.

She previously worked as a SENCo within the Laurus Trust and holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MA in Inclusive Education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, a PGCE in Secondary Spanish with QTS, and the NASENCO qualification.

She is currently pursuing an Education Doctorate at Liverpool Hope University.
