
Mr T Alexander
Director of Sixth Form, Assistant Head of School & Teacher of History
Mr Alexander studied History at the University of Edinburgh before completing his PGCE at Jesus College, Cambridge the following year. Prior to joining the Laurus Trust in 2019, he worked in two other schools, gaining valuable experience across a range of educational settings.

Since joining the Trust, Mr Alexander has held a number of roles, most recently serving as Trust Director of History. In this capacity, he has worked across several schools, including Laurus Ryecroft, Hazel Grove High School, and Cheadle Hulme High School.
Mr Alexander is proud to now be part of Hazel Grove High School as Director of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher. He is committed to maintaining high expectations and ensuring all students benefit from a supportive and aspirational environment, where curiosity is encouraged and ambition is nurtured. He is passionate about helping students become the very best versions of themselves, ensuring they leave the Sixth Form equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen futures.

Mr B Vickers
Deputy Head & Senior Link to Sixth Form
Mr Vickers studied Product Design at Sheffield Hallam University, before completing his PGCE at the same institute. He spent two years at a school in Lincoln before moving to Hazel Grove High School in 2005, where he has been a senior leader since 2009.

Mr Vickers feels very honoured to be Deputy Head for Hazel Grove High School and the Senior Link to the Sixth Form. He is passionate about helping the young people of Hazel Grove develop the qualities and skills that will enable them go on to the future of their choice.

Mrs H Roberts
Assistant Director of Sixth Form & Teacher of English
Mrs Roberts studied English and American Literature at Brunel University, London, before completing her PGCE at the University of Bath. She has been teaching for 24 years, 22 of which have been at Hazel Grove High School!

She is an inspirational teacher who shares her love of literature with her students, encouraging them to become avid readers and to use language to find their own voices. She has high expectations of her students and encourages them to be aspirational in the way they view their future selves.
Mrs Roberts feels very honoured to work as Assisant Director of Sixth Form and as an English Teacher. She has devoted her career to supporting the development of the young people at Hazel Grove and she values the achievements of each of her students, no matter how small. Mrs Roberts believes in life-long learning and is passionate about raising the aspirations of her students. She is proud of the contribution that she has made to her students’ lives by supporting them to go far in their applications to employment and higher education.

Mr J Donnarumma
Head of Altius, Teacher of MFL & Head of House Link to Sixth Form
Mr Donnarumma completed a Combined Honours (MFL with Business Studies) at the University of Nottingham and graduated in 2020. He completed his teacher training with the Laurus Trust in 2020/2021 and officially joined Hazel Grove High School in September 2021 as a Teacher of MFL. He later became Head of Altius House in January 2025 and is currently completing his Masters in Education.

He is dedicated to continuing the House ethos and Laurus Trust Cornerstones as students embark on their journey into Hazel Grove Sixth Form. Driven to support Sixth Form students, he focuses on enhancing their leadership skills, encouraging community engagement, and refining their creativity, whilst ensuring they achieve academically to open the doors to their chosen futures.

Mrs N Khan
Lead Academic Tutor
Mrs Khan studied Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University before completing her MEd in Psychology of Education at the University of Manchester. Following this, she completed her PGCE at Edge Hill University in 2014. She joined the Laurus Trust in 2019 as Head of Psychology and is extremely proud of the Sixth Form’s outstanding success.

Mrs Khan is passionate about supporting all students, regardless of background or circumstance, so that they can achieve their goals and exceed expectations. Mrs Khan has high expectations and is dedicated to nurturing this in students. She works closely with Sixth Form students to ensure they are making progress and immersing themselves in the wonderful opportunities presented to them. She strongly believes that Sixth Form is a critical time in a young person’s academic life and feels privileged to be a part of their journey.

Mrs R Butcher
Lead for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science
Mrs Butcher studied Biomedical Science at Manchester, graduating in 2012 before completing a PGCE in Secondary Science at Manchester Metropolitan University. She began her teaching career at a high school in Stockport, where she taught science for seven years. In 2021, she joined Hazel Grove High School as Head of Biology.

Mrs C Leach
Sixth Form Head of Year
Mrs Leach joined Hazel Grove High School as a Head of Year in 2019, having previously worked at Cheadle Hulme High School. She has a background in both nursing and residential child care.

Mrs Leach is passionate about pastoral care and supporting students throughout their time at school and sixth form. She firmly believes that each and every young person is unique, deserves the best possible education and has infinite potential given the right tools to achieve this.

Mrs V Gill
Sixth Form Academic Services Manager
Mrs Gill graduated from UMIST with an MSc in Marketing. After graduating she joined a leading retail company as a Marketing Executive before taking on a home-based administrative support role while bringing up her family. She started her journey in education administration at a tutoring firm before joining Hazel Grove High School in 2020.

Mrs Gill feels very privileged to be working in the redeveloped Sixth Form as the Academic Services Manager. She is responsible for providing administrative support to the Sixth Form Team and is often the first point of contact for parents/carers and students. Mrs Gill is passionate about supporting students to prepare for the next step in their lives, opening the door to the future of their choice.
