Specialist Roles

There are several specialist roles within the SEND team which include:

  • Literacy Specialists
  • Numeracy Specialists
  • Intervention and Inclusion Specialist
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Specialist
  • Psychometric Testing and Intervention Specialist

Our specialist staff provide one to one and small‑group interventions where appropriate. They also track and monitor progress data to ensure that students are making progress within their specialist areas.

Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)

Our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) support students in lessons and around school. At primary school, they may have been called a Teaching Assistant or TA. LSAs are attached to specific year groups, which helps them get to know students well and understand their individual needs.
