Hazel Grove High School is celebrating its best GCSE results ever, with students achieving outstanding outcomes across the board.
The Class of 2026 secured record-breaking results across every key measure, with 75% of students achieving grades 4+ in both English and maths, 54% achieving grades 5+ in both subjects, and the school’s strongest-ever performance at grade 7+.

These exceptional outcomes reflect the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, alongside the unwavering support of staff and families. As a result, students have successfully secured places at their chosen post-16 destinations, including sixth forms, colleges and apprenticeship pathways.

Being Unashamedly Academic at Hazel Grove High School means working hard to achieve your very best in everything you do, and nowhere is this more evident than in the achievements of the Class of 2026.
The celebrations continue with an equally impressive set of modern foreign languages GCSE results from our Year 9 students. More than a third of students achieved the top grades of 7-9, with 73% securing a grade 5 or above and over 85% achieving a grade 4 or higher in French, German or Spanish GCSE.

Whilst there were many successes to celebrate, some individual achievements were particularly noteworthy. Huge congratulations to:
- The 12 students who achieved the very top grades of 8 and 9 in all of their GCSE subjects, including Felicity and Wen, who achieved all grade 9 results with one grade 8.
- The 26 Year 9 students who achieved a grade 9 in their MFL GCSE, representing over 10% of the cohort.
Emma Moroney, Head of School at Hazel Grove High School, said:
“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Year 11 and Year 9 students. These fantastic results are a testament to their commitment, perseverance and the support they have received throughout their time at Hazel Grove High School. We would like to thank our staff, parents and carers for the important role they have played in helping students reach this milestone. It is particularly pleasing to see so many young people progressing to their chosen post-16 destinations, and we look forward to supporting them as they take their next steps and continue to thrive in the future.”
