Everyone at Hazel Grove High School is delighted that our tech team has been nominated for a BBC North West Tonight Everyday Heroes award!

Over the last few days members of the Design and Technology department have been in school using 3D printers to make vital personal protection equipment (PPE) for frontline health service workers.

Kim Kress, Head of Technology, said the team has been making masks and scrub bags in a variety of colours.

“We have created our own Rainbow of Hope,” she said. “We were asked if we could help with any PPE and we rose to the challenge!”

Head of school Martin Stewart said he was incredibly proud of all the Hazel Grove staff and their response to the crisis.

“This is a brilliant example of how selfless and hardworking our staff at Hazel Grove High School are,” he said. “A huge well done to our Technology department, who have given up much of their Easter holiday doing whatever it takes to make a difference.”

Scores of PPE items have been distributed by school staff to GP practices and care homes throughout the area.
