In addition to the excellent Year 11 results achieved at Hazel Grove High School this year, our Year 9 students have shown a glimpse of what they can do as they secure an incredible set of results in their Modern Foreign Languages GCSEs. 73% of students achieved a pass at Grade 5 and above with nearly 30% at the top Grades of 7-9. There were tears of joy as 15 of our students opened their envelope to find the hard sought Grade 9.

As in all Laurus schools, students enter their Language GCSE in Year 9 and our current Year 9 students have been the first year group to do this at Hazel Grove High School. We are incredibly proud of all of their hard work, dedication and maturity in their approach to their studies. Their enthusiasm for languages is a joy to watch and this enjoyment is evident in their results. We look forward to their continued success in languages in the future as some go on to study a second language in Year 10 and others look to continue with their first language as part of extra and super curricular programmes.
