Admissions for 11-16 students
The Laurus Trust is the Admissions Authority for Hazel Grove High School and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions. Please find the Admissions Policy at the bottom of this page. The Laurus Trust has elected to use Stockport MBC’s admission process, therefore the coordination and administration of admissions is undertaken by the Local Authority.
(a) For September 2026 entry into Year 7
Local Authorities have a system of coordinated admissions. Applications are made using the Local Authority form for the area in which you reside.
Stockport Local Authority’s application portal opened in mid August 2025 and the deadline for applications is 31 October 2025. For more information, please visit Stockport’s Secondary School Admissions page. Offer day is in early March 2026.
Once we know which students are due to attend, a series of events and meetings take place from May onwards to support the transition from primary school. These include primary sports sessions, a new intake evening for parents and carers, and a taster day at the school, during which students will sample a range of lessons with the tutor group they will join in September. In addition, key staff visit the main primary schools to discuss transition information with appropriate teachers.
(b) For in-year admissions to all year groups
All in-year applications must be made to the Local Authority’s Admissions Support and Advice Team. For more information, please visit Stockport Council’s website: Changing schools during the school year.
