Dear Parents/Carer

Year 11 Subject Teachers’/Parents’ Evening – Wednesday 1st February 2016

We are pleased to invite you to the Year 11 Subject Teachers’/Parents’ Evening which is to take place from 4pm – 7pm on Wednesday 1st February in the school hall and surrounding classrooms. Please note we are trialling an earlier starting time than in recent years at the request of many parents.

The purpose of the evening is to meet with individual subject teachers to discuss in detail how your child is performing in each subject. This is the only occasion there will be this year to meet with all the subject teachers therefore it is important that you attend.

This evening provides you with an ideal opportunity to review the progress your child has made so far in their GCSE courses and to discuss any concerns there may be for the final important months leading up to the summer examinations.

Appointments should be made now by students, directly with subject teachers and will be recorded on the form issued via form tutors.

Please also complete and return the attached Reply Slip to confirm your attendance and return it to your child’s form tutor.

Finally, we will also have a stand at the Parents’ Evening for The Challenge, run by the National Citizen Service. This is an opportunity for students to engage in teamwork, enjoy outward bound activities, stay at a university and prepare and deliver a citizenship project in their own community. Many of our students have taken part in this Challenge in recent years - our year 11 students will be introduced to it in an assembly this term. Please do drop by the Challenge stand at the Parents’ Evening.

In the meantime, we wish your son or daughter every success with their exam preparations and we thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday 27th January.

Yours sincerely
