GCSE Record Results

Following on from last weeks record breaking A level results, Hazel Grove students collected their GCSE results from the school celebrating a second year running of record GCSE results.

74% of all students collected the coveted 5 A*-C including English and Maths. An impressive 85% of the GCSE cohort achieved a grade in English and 82% achieving a higher grade pass in Maths.

Headteacher Mark Sibson was delighted with the achievements. “The students have worked incredibly hard all year and thoroughly deserve their success this morning. We have more students hitting their individual progress targets than ever before. These results are the best the school Hazel Grove have ever achieved and are testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff, students and parents. We are all incredibly proud of them. They have been a great group to work with, we couldn’t be happier for them and their families. ”

Amongst the group were highest achievers Imogen Arden-Jones and Alice Bentley (pictured) who each sat 11 GCSE’s and achieved an A* in all of them.  This on top of them both achieving an A grade in their A level Maths a year early. Both girls will now head to Sixth Form to study A levels.
