Last week, as part of our ongoing careers programme, Year 10 experienced a real face-to-face job interview during our Year 10 Practice Interview event.
Over the past week, Year 10 have been learning about persuasive writing, and the ability to “sell themselves” as part of the English Schema of study. They completed an application form for a job position of their choice, and they were interviewed for that job.
The student feedback was outstanding, with students recognising the soft skills they need to perform well in these situations. Barrie Hawker – Park Lane Market Research in Poynton, was one of the interviewers. He commented “Students were so well turned-out and polite, showing maturity beyond their years talking about their future aspirations. An excellent day all round!”
