We are incredibly proud to share that Year 10 student Callum has been crowned the winning Singer/Songwriter in this year’s Stockport Battle of the Bands competition.
Callum performed at the Spinning Top in Stockport last week, impressing judges and audience members at the two‑night event.
The competition, run by Stockport Music Service, aims to provide a platform for emerging musicians, giving young bands and artists the chance to showcase their talent in front of judges with real experience in the music industry.
Drawn at random, Callum was selected as the final act of the night. As the only singer/songwriter performing that evening, he waited patiently while five bands took to the stage before him.
When his moment finally came, he stepped up with confidence and proved himself a natural performer.

Callum performed two of his original songs, ‘Perfect Like You’ and ‘Time Flies’, delivering both with composure and charm.
He then closed his set with a classic Oasis track, winning the crowd over and getting the room singing along.
Audience members and fellow musicians approached him afterwards to say how much they enjoyed his performance.
One of the judges was so impressed that they personally approached Callum and his dad after the event, inviting him to perform at one of Stockport’s popular Foodie Friday festivals this summer.
Following the judges’ scoring, the organisers announced this week that Callum had been selected as the overall winning Singer/Songwriter, earning him a place representing Stockport at the Greater Manchester Hub Battle of the Bands Showcase. This will take place on Sunday 1st March at the iconic Band on the Wall in Manchester.
We are absolutely delighted for Callum and cannot wait to see him perform again on the regional stage. A huge congratulations, Callum – a brilliant achievement and very well deserved!
