On Monday 25th April 8 Key Stage 3 students from Hazel Grove High School took to the stage at Parr Hall, Warrington for the National Schools Competition ‘The Great Big Dance Off’.  
Joining roughly 34 other teams from across KS2, KS3 and KS4, Hazel Grove performed an engaging routine which was choreographed by Harrison Jones from Debut StudiosWith 2 out of 3 judges awarding the students consistently full marks across all areas of the judging criteria, the student’s strength in timing, technique and crowd appeal was acknowledged, amongst other skills.  Achieving an outstanding 284 out of 300 in total, the students successfully achieved first place in the regionals.  
 
Head of Dance Mrs Carpenter states “What an achievement! The students have worked incredibly hard on their performance and truly deserve the award and recognition.  They have been superb representatives of the dance department and should be extremely proud of themselves.”
 
The Nationals take place in Cheltenham on 27th June where we are sure they will do Hazel Grove High School and Laurus Trust proud.
