The Year 10 drama students at Hazel Grove High School had a fantastic opportunity to put their questions to playwright Simon Stephens last week in an online Q & A forum.

They have been looking at a number of Simon’s plays in class including Blue Bird, Port and Punk Rock and heard more from him about his influences and inspirations.

He spent time speaking to them about growing up in 1980s Stockport, his early career as a teacher and how his experiences continue to inform his writing.

The students worked hard to compile a series of thought-provoking questions and the answers have provided a fascinating insight, which will help them further with their studies.

They all thoroughly enjoyed the session and we’d like to thank Simon Stephens for taking part and talking so openly with us.
