The standard of work being carried out by students at home is fantastic and the House Science Fair Competition has been no exception. The Year 7s and 8s were tasked with carrying out an investigative Science project and we’ve been very impressed with the levels of hard work and creativity on display.

Lots of brilliant ideas and results have been submitted so well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to all our winners and runners up.

Year 7 Winner: Melody with a fascinating project about Strawberry DNA Extractions.

Year 7 Runner Up: Edward with an investigation into the growth of Stalactites and Stalagmites.

Year 7 Honourable Mentions go to Ioan, Alex, Holly Jessica and George.

Year 8 Winner: Thurston who demonstrated how Mass Spectrometers work.

Year 8 Runner Up: Sam and his investigation into the elements needed for a perfect Aquarium and the importance of the Nitrogen Cycle to the health of fish.

Year 8 Honourable Mentions go to Thomas, Eleanor, Gedd and Callum.

The level of detail involved in the projects and report writing was exceptional and the winning students very much deserve the house points they have been awarded.
