This week the Design and Technology department at Hazel Grove High School created their own ‘rainbow of hope’. We were asked if we could help with any personal protection equipment (PPE) for the local NHS and we rose to the challenge. The department rallied and we successfully created 123 face shields with our laser cutter and 26 scrubs bags, which are used to put the uniforms/scrubs safely inside after health workers’ shifts ensuring they can be washed free of any potential contamination from coronavirus.
All items have been distributed across the Stockport area: to MasterCall, GP practices, care homes and carer provisions, helping those on the frontline who are working so hard in the fight against the disease. We are so grateful to receive emails of thanks showing our face shields being used by the frontline workers, together we will get through this worrying time. Great work Team Tech at HGHS!
Companies who have been supported by HGHS have given warming feedback to the schools effort.
