Hazel Grove High School (HGHS) celebrates another year of GCSE results day success with many of our students achieving top grades.

Nearly half of our Year 11 students achieved a grade 5+ in English and Maths, with 70% of students achieving grade 4+ in English and Maths.

Overall, across all subjects studied, students achieved an average grade of a 5, which is a strong pass.

Furthermore, there were some outstanding individual successes.

Congratulations to Elliot, who achieved grade 9s across the board.

A huge well done to Josh and Henry who achieved all grades 9s with two grade 8s.

Year 9 students have also been celebrating as they collected their Modern Foreign Languages GCSE results.

62% of students achieved a pass at grade 5 and above with nearly 30% at the top grades of 7-9.

Martin Stewart, Head of School, said:

“We want to congratulate all of our students collecting exam results and wish them well in the next step of their educational journey. We look forward to continuing to work with the Hazel Grove students who will be taking up places in our brand new academic Sixth Form, which opens this September.”

Linda Magrath, CEO of the Laurus Trust, said:

“We are delighted to congratulate our students receiving their results today, all of which are hugely deserved after working so hard over the past 5 years. It’s important that we remember that this year’s Year 11 students experienced significant disruption during their early years at Hazel Grove High School, which makes their achievements even more impressive.

We are very proud of their outcomes and would like to thank all our students, their families, our staff and the wider community for their ongoing support.”
