HAZEL GROVE HIGH SCHOOL

A level Class of 2019

Hazel Grove High School “thrilled” with the Class of 2019

Sixth Form students at Hazel Grove High School have been celebrating after receiving their Key Stage 5 results earlier today.

Ben Vickers, Deputy Head Teacher, said: "We are thrilled with our student’s A Levels results.

“In fact, this is one of my favourite days of the year. It is great to see students realising that all their hard work and efforts really does pay off – which is why so many of our students are heading off to some of the top universities in the country.”

A group of five students, including Samantha Munyebvu, Sam Butterworth, Jessica Connors, Olivia Skidmore, and Alana Whinder, led the way at the school securing an impressive 12 A*s and As between them.

Samantha Munyebvu, who is now heading off to read Medicine at Sheffield University, said: "The support at Hazel Grove has been great. I am heading to do something that I have always wanted to do, and would like to thank the teachers for all their support.”

Mr Vickers added: “What is really pleasing is that students are excelling across a range of subjects. It is great to see that the results in traditional subjects such as Maths stand shoulder to shoulder with creative subjects like textiles and media studies.

“This means that school is continuously providing high quality education to students in the local area and more importantly that students feel challenged and supported to achieve their very best in whatever subject their passions and talents lie in.

“We want to congratulate all of our students and wish them well as they take up their places at university, apprenticeships, employment, or begin their gap year.

“The Class of 2019 is one that we will look back on with a great deal of pride.”
