Students visit from China

Following our visit from a group of teachers from China, on Wednesday we were visited by 32 students. They were visiting the UK while on their winter break and wanted to experience English education. The students joined HGHS for the day and were given a taste of different lessons and English culture.

Our teachers planned a special day for the visitors giving up their time to deliver some amazing sessions including Maths, PE, Art, Drama and English.  A group of our Year 10 students looked after them for the day and were a credit to the school welcoming the students and helping them to engage with the lessons. At break and lunch they got the chance to interact further with our students and enjoyed their dinner in the canteen. They finished the day with a visit to the Sixth Form where Mrs Roberts and the Sixth Formers had planned an exciting team challenge. The visitors left having a great day and the feedback on the school was amazing. I would like to thank all the teachers involved in the day, the Year 10 students who spent time with them and our Sixth Formers for planning and delivering the team challenge.
