Hazel Grove High School

A Level Results Success

A successful year of A level results has been celebrated at Hazel Grove Sixth Form. Provisional indications are that an impressive 77% of grades achieved were A*-C and a 100% pass rate.

An impressive 17% of all the entries were the top A*/A grades. With many students moving on to university, the school was delighted to celebrate a number of prestigious places secured, Including Luke Taylor who achieved A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths and who looks forward to starting at Birmingham university in September where he will be studying Medicine.

The Head of Sixth Form, Mr Vickers commented on the year group:

“This was a great year group full of character and students dedicated to hard work, and I am delighted that they are able to celebrate such well deserved results, particularly as the pressures seem to build each year. They have achieved some outstanding university placements as well as highly sought after apprenticeships.

Everybody associated with Hazel Grove High School  is proud of the achievements of all of our students as they now prepare for the next exciting chapter of their lives. In many cases the real success stories are where potential D and E grades are turned into B grades through sustained hard work and excellent teaching.  We would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved in enabling our students to achieve their potential”
