Hazel Grove High School
Residential Experiences

At Hazel Grove we believe that all students should have an entitlement to take part in residential activities.

Our current Year 7 students visited Winmarleigh Hall in Derbyshire as part of their Induction Programme. Spending time together with their tutor group and some of their teachers provided the ideal opportunity to make new friends and enjoy time together. In 2008, we took students on an activity packed residential to Boreatton Park in Shropshire and we are also hoping to have an American residential trip for our students, visiting exciting places such as, Las Vegas, California and Florida.

Year 10 students have the opportunity of taking part on an outdoor pursuit residential at the Conway Centre by the banks of the Menai Straits on Anglesey. Students are able to take part in a range of activities including: climbing, abseiling, canoeing, sailing, raft-building, sea-level traversing, high-level ropes and gorge walking.

Many students have participated in ‘French Cuisine’ courses in Normandy which, with visits to Beziers and Heilbronn, provide important European links.
