Re-designation of Specialist School Status in 2008 has resulted in a massive investment of our IT infrastructure. The school is now comprehensively networked with digital projection in every classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
But it isn't just about IT. The three lead subjects of Mathematics, Science and Technology have been at the forefront of raising academic standards, developing teaching and learning strategies including single sex grouping at KS4, enriching the curriculum, early-entry opportunities at GCSE, and working in collaboration with our partner primary schools in inter-schools challenges and Science and Technology Days.
Therefore, as we progress with Specialist Schools Status, our ambitions in all these areas will continue to grow. It goes without saying that it is a key dimension of our School Development Plan and we are committed to using Specialist Schools Status as a platform from which to continue to raise standards across the school.
