We are proud of our safe, happy and secure learning environment. Students support teams are closely involved with monitoring children’s progress. Form Tutors have daily contact with their students. They provide each child with learning support, recognition of achievements and advice throughout their school careers. Students are encouraged to develop their own values and opinions and to respect those of others.
Conduct
Responsible behaviour, courtesy and consideration for others are expected from all our students. All of our students are made aware of the School’s Code of Conduct and are required to observe it.
Homework
We believe that homework is vital in developing independent study skills and the confidence to work alone. Students are issued with a homework timetable. Homework is set regularly and parents are asked to monitor their children’s work, and check through and sign the student journal.
Our School Council
Our School Council is highly effective and provides the opportunity for students to share ideas and discuss issues which affect the life of the school. Student representatives are elected by tutor and year groups to work on the School Council.
Student Support
Each child belongs to a tutor group and each year has its own Head of Year who oversees the welfare of all students. In a large school our students are able to develop a strong sense of identity through our student support arrangements. Parents are able to contact the Form Tutor or the Head of Year whenever they have a concern.oups to work on the School Council.
Mentors
Senior students are encouraged to take responsibility for other members of the school community. As mentors they help younger children and assist at school events. This enables them to develop leadership skills and learn to work with others.
