Exam Results 2016 

We are delighted to report that Hazel Grove High School Class of 2016 had another successful year, with a wealth of outstanding grades above both National and Local Averages.

The Year 11 cohort achieved another record setting year of results for the school with fantastic Attainment and Progress results. The Class of 2016 82% achieved 5+A*-C and 75% of students achieved the basics of 5+A*-C including English and Maths.   

  1. 73% of students eligible for EBacc achieved a good pass in the suite of qualifications;18% of the cohort.
  2. 82% of students achieved at least expected progress in English.
  3. 78% of students achieved at least expected progress in Maths.

We are also tremendously proud that more students achieved the prestigious A/A* grades.  Over half of the cohort of students achieved at least one A/A* in their GCSEs. Furthermore over a fifth of students gained 5 or more A/A* grades in their GCSEs. 

All departments celebrated successful results, with the core departments performing exceptionally well; 84% of students achieved an A*- C in at least one English and 81% A*-C in Maths. Furthermore, 100% students achieved triple Science GCSE grade at A*-C and Science Additional 79% A* - C.

Many other departments also celebrated record breaking results for the school and were above the National average.  These included: Art 90% A*-C, Business Studies 85% A*-C, Resistant Materials 85%A*-C, Media Studies 85% A*-C to name but a few. 

The students also made pleasing progress across the suite of qualifications, when comparing to their similar ability peers.  The students made on average a third of a level of more progress in their subjects (P8 0.3). Students also made more progress across the core and ebacc subjects compared to their similar ability peers. 

We cannot congratulate the Year 11 students enough for their hard work and commitment to their studies whilst at Hazel Grove High School. Throughout their time with us, they were supported by dedicated and committed staff. Equally, the support of parents and carers, working in partnership with school, was invaluable. We wish them every success for their future and hope they build on their achievements.
